Moving Forward
Philippians 3:16
This
morning, I am very grateful for giving a time to speech before you. We have
only a few school days in this calendar year and we have done more than two
thirds of this academic session. Now, we all have to think about is that what
is our position, what achievements that we have done in this session, did you
acquired more knowledge now than in April of this year?? The answer is up to
you. I hope that you all have some more knowledge from this school.
My
topic for today is ‘Moving Forward’.
When
I was the principal for this school in July of 2013, what I think for this
school is that its need changed. I see that this school has need some change,
not to change the building, not to change the teachers (because we have all
good and qualified teachers for this school), but I’ve found that it need to
change the system. So I work for it.
During
the last 3 years, we have so much change and we are still moving. What we need
today is moving forward from the changes and achievements that we have done so
far. We must move forward. When we look backward even only the last three years,
we may have some disappointment and failures, but when we look forward we also
have some changes and achievements for this school. We must have a positive
though and must look forward rather than regretting the past. In your personal
life also, you should be optimist and not a pessimist. You have to move
forward, for your education career as well as for your personal development.
This
morning I want to share three points so that you can move forward:
Quality: Quality is one of the most important things for
personal development. You all are qualified for sitting on your class. And
after this academic session, you have to be qualified for the next level. You
should try for that. In our Christian life, we must have to be qualified for
having eternal life. Therefore, we must have some quality in this life. Quality
defines the person. PES Serchhip students must have quality in various fields
and you have to bring out your quality in this world. I hope that our school is
the most quality students in Serchhip. One of my visions is that to give you some
kind of quality while you are in this school.
Dream: The next point is that you must have a dream in your career. The
dreams I said to you is not about a dream that you have seen during your sleep.
It’s about a dream for your future, for your career. This is important and if
you do not have any dream for your future, it means that you will not have a
destiny and ambition for your life. I also have a dream for this School and I
worked for it to fulfill my dreams. If
you live without a dream, you are like a bird without wings. The late APJ Abdul
Kalam said that, “Dream is not what you see in sleep, is the thing which does
not let you sleep’. To succeed in your life, a proper plan and dream is
necessary. This is the basic need of education.
Achievement: Achievement is the key point for succeed in life. If
you achieve something, it will lead you to do more and more in your life. Do
something, face something, struggle something and succeed in your life. We need
achievement, but many of us are afraid of doing something. Because we thought
of falling and if we fail we are afraid that this will lead us to failure in
our life. The fear of losing is the opposite of education. The meaning of
education is all round development and achieved something every day. So, if you
are a student and educated, you must have a strong heart to achieve something.
Some proverb said that ‘Falling down is not defeat; defeat is when you refused
to get up’. When you lose something, it means that you do not lose at all. But
when you refused to do it again, it means you lose it all.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali once said, “I hated every minute of training. But I said, ‘Don’t Quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion’”. He also hated the tough routine of his training, but he remembers that this was the only way to his goal (the world champion). And then he became the world champion. Likewise, in your school life, you may also hate your teacher, your lesson and every test question. But don’t quit now and struggle for it. Study harder and harder. This is the path for your succeed in life.
From
Thursday of next week you will have Second term Examination; remember what I
have told you this morning. Try your best and do your best. Your first term
result may be excellent, but do not content with it. This is not your promotion
result and you have to move forward and achieve more and more.
For
my conclude, in your life, you should have quality, dreams for your future and
achieve something. This will leads you to move forward in life.
Thank You.
